"The Good News of a Merry Christmas" A Poem

I attempt to write a Christmas poem to our congregation to hopefully further instill within us the true reason for why we celebrate Christmas. I have entitled the poem for this year, "The Good News of a Merry Christmas."  I hope it helps to invoke within each of us the true reason as to why we celebrate Christmas.

Sages and singers of old,
spoke of Messiah's birth foretold.
From heaven to earth To the Virgin's womb
To the cross from the empty tomb.

Our sins on Jesus all were laid,
impeccable sacrifice made,
for our redemption then was done,
through the the death of the Father's Son.

Yes to bow at His cross in praise,
Jesus, Lord the Ancient of Days.
Worship to Him ceasing never,
from His saints always forever.

In heaven, in Christ endless day,
with Him forever I will stay.
Neither pen nor word can recite,
when our faith and hope receives sight.

Light of heaven who came to earth,
Incarnate Son through sinless birth.
In humility, truth, and grace,
to show God's glory from your face.

Baby Jesus worshipped by kings,
and angels at Your birth who sing,
and shepherds in haste who came to see,
Salvation enshrouded in Thee.

May the peace, joy, and love of Jesus be very real in your life as you rejoice in the birth of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
